BRIGHTER BATTER
OXO, a pioneer in universal design and maker of super grippy kitchen tools, set out to launch their first ever line of kitchen electrics. The vision was to create products that could enable greater outcomes from the people who use them. The hand mixer we designed for the line embodies this vision by including a headlight feature that allows people to see what they’re whipping up more clearly. After speaking with ‘extreme users’ like elderly people who struggle with vision in dimly lit spaces, we realized that better visibility was the unmet need. As it turns out, a lot of kitchens have terrible spot lighting for food prep. This unmet need was shared by many.
